Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)

This is 600 hours/15 weeks/4 months medical field diploma program, approved by the Comission of Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. Consists of basic healthcare worker unit + 6 modules with interim certification:


  1. Basic Healthcare Worker Home Health Aide - Get your Basic HHA Certificate in 2 weeks;

  2. Nursing Assistant (165 total hours/5 weeks). Upon completion eligible for Florida CNA exam;

  3. Advanced Home Health Aide (HHA + Nursing Assistant) (215 total hours/6 weeks);

  4. Patient Care Assistant (290 total hours/8 weeks) add skills necessary to work in a health care facility other than a nursing home;

  5. Allied Health Assistant (440 total hours/11 weeks) Certificates in competencies in one to three areas: physical therapy (ultrasound), radiation (X-ray room film and patient prep procedures), laboratory and respiratory medicine – (Phlebotomy, EKG/ECG).

  6. Advanced Allied Health Assistant (total 540 hours/13 weeks) Clinical Rotation In The Selected Major Allied Health Area;

  7. Patient Care Technician (Total 600 hours/15 weeks) Organizational and Effective Team Member Skills.

GRADUATES ARE AWARDED "PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN" (Industry Title) DIPLOMA and are eligible for a voluntary Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) National Examination by the National Healthcare Association
